Aurora sweeps Alter Ego Claims M7 World Title

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Philippine powerhouse Aurora Gaming PH delivered a masterclass performance against Alter Ego Esports in the Grand Finals of the MLBB M7 World Championship, completing a dominant 4–0 sweep at the Tennis Indoor Senayan in Jakarta.

Broadcast live on YouTube under “LIVE  GRAND FINALS M7 World Championship Aurora PH vs Alter Ego (ENG)”, the Best-of-Seven showdown on January 25, 2026 showcased Aurora’s superior macro play, draft control, and teamfight execution from start to finish.

Aurora struck early in Game 1, finishing in just over 15 minutes behind a composed performance from roamer Dylan “Light” Catipon, who piloted Hylos to control engagements and secure objectives. The Filipinos outpaced Alter Ego in rotations and skirmishes, setting the tone for the series.

Game 2 saw Edward “Edward” Dapadap step into the spotlight on Sora, delivering a standout 7/2/8 KDA performance that overwhelmed Alter Ego’s defenses. With precise timing and coordinated dives, Aurora extended their lead in the series to 2–0.

The momentum only intensified in Game 3, as Aurora’s core trio — Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo, Jan Dominic “Domengkite” Delmundo, and Jonard Cedrix “DemonKite” Caranto — dictated the tempo. Crisp teamfights and disciplined objective control pushed Alter Ego to the brink.

By Game 4, the outcome felt inevitable. Aurora executed their cleanest rotations of the night, closing the series in decisive fashion to complete the sweep and secure the world championship.

“It was all about trust and teamwork,” Light said following the match, after being named Finals MVP for his leadership and clutch initiations throughout the series.

Despite Alter Ego’s valiant lower-bracket run leading into the finals, they were unable to break Aurora’s rhythm on the championship stage.

Aurora’s triumph earned them approximately US$320,000 from the tournament’s US$1,000,000 prize pool, while Alter Ego secured US$150,000 as runners-up. The victory also marked the sixth consecutive M Series world title for a Philippine team, further cementing the country’s dominance in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports.

The Grand Finals shattered viewership records, peaking at over 5 million concurrent viewers worldwide, underscoring MLBB’s global competitive impact.
